It could be said that using Fantastico for installing Wordpress is the quickest way to get WordPress up and running on your website. This lesson will show you how to do it step by step.

1. Login to your cPanel. The URL is http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel. You’ll be prompted with a login box. Enter you username and password.

2. Scroll down and look for Fantastico. Click on the icon. Fantastico page will be displayed.

3. From the Fantastico interface, scroll down until you see the Blogs section and just below it (See below picture), you will see Wordpress in the list. Click on the ” Wordpress link “.

4. After Clicking on the WordPress link, and you’ll be taken to WordPress installation page. Just click on the “New Installation” at the right hand side and you will see the first page of three steps for Wordpress installation.

5. Fill up all the fields.

The meaning of each field

- Installation Location: This is for setting the location or address of your website. If you want your blog to be your website’s homepage, make sure that you leave the space blank, otherwise type in the name of the folder you want WordPress installed to).

- Admin access data: This about setting information for accessing to your Wordpress management page. Thus, choose the username and password you would like to use in order to access the WordPress admin panel after installation is completed.

- Admin Nickname: Write the name you would like to use throughout the blog. This name will be showed whenever you leave comments or write an entry on the blog.

- Aadmin e-mail : This e-mail address will be used for receiving notices, passwords, and other information about the blog.

- E-mail account configuration: You only need to use this function if you plan to blog via e-mail. If you’ve set up a special e-mail account that you’ll use for blogging via e-mail, then enter the settings where applicable. (Bear in mind, you will need to enter an e-mail account password in order to proceed with the installation, simply use a false one if you don’t plan to blog via e-mail.)

6. Click on the “Install Wordpress” button after complete filling all information.

7. Fantastico will ask you to verify that the information you provided is correct . Click on Finish installation. Fantastico will create a brand new database for you and create the necessary WordPress files.

8. After complete all of these steps, you can now login to your blog administration area by clicking on the admin link or go to  http://www.yourdomainname.com/wp-admin and then, using the user name and password for accessing to your Wordpress admin panel or Wordpress management page in order to write or post the contents of your website.
