Setting Name Server on your Domain Name

April 11th, 2009 by BiG | Filed under Creating Web Site.

In the case that we do not buy the domain name and hosting from the same place (for example, buy the domain name from Godaddy and buy hosting from Lunarpage) ,  the hosting company will ask us to give them the information about the domain name that we would like to use.  Usually, the hosting company will ask for the domain name information  during the process of buying the hosting service.  When they ask for this information, we just give them our domain name that we already bought or registered (Learn how to register Domain Name, Click here!).  After giving hosting company the information about the domain name and complete buying the hosting, the hosting will give you the information about your name server. The name server will be used for our next step.  That is “Setting the Name Server on our Domain Name“.  Setting the name server on domain name means the process of making our domain name knows the address of our hosting so that our domain name and hosting can work together.  The steps of setting the name server on our domain name are as follows:

1. Go to the site that we buy our domain name (If you learn how to register or buy domain name from this web, your registering web would be Godaddy.com)

2. Log in with your user name and password and go to your domain name management page.

3. Change the name server

After complete doing all of these steps, you are now ready for creating  your website.
